CONFERENCES:

   The WRSGC meets twice a year for two days to hear technical papers, participate in workshops and manufacturer's seminars (sponsors of the committee), participate on panels and tour a test facility in the area. 

  Conferences are a key function of the committee, as this venue provides valuable opportunities to learn about new developments and research in strain gages and mechanical testing, and also provides access to networking and discussions with experts in this field. 

  Typically, conferences take place in February and August of each year.   Location and dates vary.  Please follow the link for the details and technical program* for each conference.

  • Monday, Feb 20th: Executive Board meeting followed by the Hostile Environments Workshop.  The Executive Board dinner will be held that evening at Searsucker Restaurant & Lounge.
  • Tuesday, Feb 21st: Program to include the Chairman’s Welcome, Host’s Welcome, and several technical paper presentations.  Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided at the hotel.
  • Wednesday, Feb 22nd: Morning program at the hotel including the General Business Meeting and two or three additional technical presentations.  Continental breakfast and lunch at the hotel will be provided.  After lunch, we will board buses for a group tour of the UCSD Structural test labs (Powell Labs) which is one of the key facilities focused on large scale earthquake studies and structural testing. Additional laboratories and other options are also being investigated.

Please act promptly to secure your hotel room, and submit your registration. Still looking for any additional technical presentations. If you have a paper or know of someone who would like to present a paper, there is still room. Please contact us as soon as possible.
